Hangzhou voted as the happiest cities to live in in China

Taking full benefit of its strategic location in the economic powerhouse of the Yangtze Delta and of its proximity to Shanghai, Hangzhou has became a major exhibition host city on the east coast of China with more than 100 exhibitions and shows on each year. The most important of them all, is the annually held West lake Expo, the primary purpose of which is to promote national products and encourage enterprises. So far West Lake Expo has recorded an historical 72,193,7000 visits since its’ opening in 2000. Here are some detailed information on exhibitions that are going to happen in the next few months.

Hangzhou and nine other Chinese cities have been voted the top ten happiest Chinese cities to live in, according to a survey conducted in 2007, Nov.

This is the third time that Hangzhou tops the list of happiest cities. It was voted the happiest city in 2004 and 2006. The winning of Hangzhou largely attributes to its beautiful landscapes, pleasurable lifestyle, low price and low work pressure, according to the survey.

The other nine cities are Shenyang, Zhongshan, Ningbo, Qingdao, Taizhou, Zhuhai, Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu.

The survey is sponsored by Beijing-based magazine Oriental Outlook and some research institutes, including the Social Survey Institute of China. The evaluating factors covers various aspects of people's life, including interpersonal relations, living convenience, natural environment, opportunities to make money, culture and entertainment, along with overall economic development.
